- ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆Avonworth tries to show the world that it's "innovative" as there are endless groups of distinguished-looking evaluators walking about seemingly endlessly throughout the halls. In reality, though, Avonworth for its size is far behind in their high school building. They have a habit of spending great amounts of money in places where it isn't needed while neglecting the voice of the student body. Lately, there has been a greater divide between the students, the teaching staff, and administration than in previous years. The entire building could use a facelift, as the original parts of the high school are nearing or over fifty years old. With the increased tax revenue from the countless new housing plans, I hope that Avonworth can get its act together sooner rather than later.By Lucas McDonald, December 13, 2017
- ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆The community needs to be educated on differences. The teaching staff is great, the Administration now got much better. When I was there administration was awful (school board and Superintendent wise). I rate the school 3 stars because of the changes of administration and changes of the school district. If nothing changed by the time I graduated I would have gave this school 1 star because of some students, and school board and Superintendent. Mr. Ralston is doing a much better job than the former superintendent. School Board improved a bit more. There are still some improvements but in a few years they could change completely just go slowly and smoothly. The district and the community need to welcome the LGBT community more, and they need to have more community outreach programs at the school. They may want to add the second floor at the school for the MS and HS because Avonworth is growing. They should add a 3rd floor or add 4 floors by the time class of 2020 or 2025 start MS or HS the school will be over crowded and the hall ways will be even worse than they are now. Students need to be educated more on differences like race, sexual orientation, culture etc. and how every one is to be treated equally. The school should offer a Gay Straight Alliance Club, A Diversity club, bring back the Environmental Club for the High School and so forth.By Anita Achatz, September 19, 2017
